April: Recumbency

April documentation follows the effect of some autumn rain, filling the creeks, bogs and swamps. New epicormic growth on many of trees, and the death of others. From areas around Mount Wilson and Doctors Gap.

Recumbency, lying down, prostrate, dead.

While documenting the landscape this month I saw so many trees that had fallen down since last month- unable to regenerate epicormically, or perhaps to re-esetablish root connections, or lost phytoryzomic connection and access to soil  micronutrients; what ever the cause they’ve relinquished their verticality to resorb horizontally. This is a few memories to those trees.
